Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, winning just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks his maiden championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since spring of that year.
The win also indicates he has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one various competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
His retrieving approach and regular outbursts on court had caused some to question if his skill to play at the elite level was over.
However the player has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved serve.
The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a third set.
He rescued 4 early chances in a competitive final set before the champion won the break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner secured the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
